A different wedding market
Almost everything we do in Vaughan is a large banquet-hall reception. Oakville is not that. The bookings that come to us from Halton are smaller, more likely to be at an estate, a golf club or a waterfront room, more likely to involve some part of the day outdoors, and far more likely to be seasonal.
None of that changes our prices. It does change what we would recommend, and it changes the two questions worth settling before you book anything: is any of it outside, and what month is it.
The outdoor question
More Oakville events ask for an outdoor or partly outdoor booth than anywhere else we work, and it is very doable. There are two requirements and they are not negotiable, because both protect your photographs rather than our convenience.
Shade or cover. Direct sun destroys the exposure. A booth relies on its own flash as the main light, and when the ambient sun is stronger than the flash you get squinting faces, blown highlights and prints nobody keeps. Heat is also genuinely hard on a dye-sublimation printer. A tent, a covered terrace, a pergola or a deep overhang all work.
A covered power run. One standard outlet within about twenty-five feet, and a route for the cable that is protected from foot traffic and weather. We tape every cable flat as standard.
Give us those two things and an outdoor setup is one of the nicer ways to run a booth. An open lawn in full afternoon sun with a cable running through the grass is not, and we will say so at booking rather than turning up and improvising.
The season is real
A lot of Halton's best venues are seasonal in a way that Vaughan's ballrooms are not. Estate properties, golf clubs and garden venues typically run roughly mid-April to mid-November, with a sharp peak from June through September. That compresses demand into a narrow window.
Practically: if you want a peak Saturday at a named estate or club, book well ahead, ours included. If you can move to a Friday, a Sunday or the shoulder weeks in late April or October, availability opens up considerably and the venues themselves are often easier to work with.
Winter Oakville weddings shift indoors to hotels and function rooms, and behave much more like the rest of our territory.
Smaller rooms, fewer hours
The typical Oakville guest list we see runs eighty to a hundred and twenty rather than two hundred plus. That has a direct consequence most photo booth companies will not tell you: you probably need fewer hours, not more.
A booth works through a room at a fairly steady rate. In a smaller room it reaches everybody who wants to use it much sooner, and then it sits there. Two hours placed well around cocktails and the early dance floor frequently does the same job that three hours does at a large banquet hall. We would rather quote you the package that fits than the one that bills more, and if you send your guest count and running order we will tell you which we think it is.
Which booth
The glam booth suits this market particularly well, and it is included at no extra charge. Oakville receptions tend to be in rooms that have already been designed carefully, and a bright colour backdrop competes with that. Black and white does not clash with anyone's palette, and the high-key portrait look reads as appropriate in an estate dining room in a way a foam-prop colour strip sometimes does not.
The 360 platform is the one to check rather than assume. Club dining rooms, marquees and older estate interiors frequently do not have the roughly ten feet of ceiling clearance the arm needs. Send us the venue and we will confirm before you pay a deposit rather than after.
Bronte, Glen Abbey, Kerr Village and Burlington
All covered, all at the same rate, no travel fee. Burlington sits just over the Halton boundary and we treat it as part of the same run.
What it costs
From $550 for two hours, $750 for three, $1,000 for four, staffed throughout with unlimited sessions and two prints per round. Glam and 360 cost the same as the open-air booth. Unlimited prints and extra waiting time are add-ons and the numbers are on the pricing page. A $100 deposit holds the date, and there is no travel charge for the fifty-minute drive.
